Kabogo defies Ruto’s plea to step down for Waititu

A defiant Kiambu  Governor Willaim Kabogo has vowed  that no amount of coercion and intimidation  will stop him from defending his seat as an independent candidate in  the August 8 polls
The governor remained defiance a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto urged Kiambu County residents to vote in a six piece suit in the general election.

In an apparent reference to candidates like Kabogo who defected from Jubilee to vie as independents after losing out in the party nominations, President Kenyatta and Ruto urged the electorate to only vote for Jubilee candidates.

During a tour of Kiambu county on Sunday,  Ruto  prevailed upon Kabogo who was conspicuously missing as the head of state and his deputy campaigned in the county to withdraw his candidature and support Waititu and promised to include him in the next government if Jubilee wins the general elections.
