DoD employee, Bank official marred in tender fraud
A staff member at the Department of Defence (DoD) and a suspected accomplice, a banker at the National Bank of Kenya (NBK) that has since been acquired by the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) thus joining the strong KCB heritage as a subsidiary could soon be guests of the state over tendering malpractices.
The duo are said to be processing payments amounting to tens of millions for supplying ‘air’ at the Ministry.
Also of interests the tenderpreneur whose company is allegedly being used to facilitate the payments and seek credit financing through a third party bank.
The allegations comes barely a day after the Auditor General Nancy Gathungu flagged irregularities in Sh8.9billion military food tendering.
Only time will tell if the vice will be nipped in the bud.
