The tier one commercial lender, the Co-operative Bank of Kenya has intensified non-financial services targeting at empowering the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country by sponsoring business forums and networking opportunities for their clients.
Today in Naivasha, the bank held an event dubbed ‘CoopMSME BusinessForum’ ostensibly to address challenges facing business people and offer solutions to emerging problems in order to revive enterprises.
“An amazing time interacting with business owners at our MSME forum held in Naivasha today. We discussed the issue facing businesses today and solutions to those and other emerging problems we can resolve to help businesses grow.” The bank said through a social media post.
Over time, Co-operative Bank has scaled up Customer Networking Forums for Micro, Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and Saccos aimed at seeing the bank train its customers countrywide on strategies to grow their businesses in changing operating environments.
The Customer Networking Forums are a key part of Co-op Bank’s MSME program as it is widely acknowledged that MSMEs need the insights and training on economic matters that have a direct bearing on their business, and which they have little or no control over.
The forums are being held across the country notably in Turkana, Nyandarua, Laikipia and Nairobi counties.
They feature a detailed presentation by the bank economist on the opportunities in and out of the country that MSMEs can tap and the ways the bank is working to enable customers seize these opportunities.
