Relatively composed, enthusiastic and straight talking Kamore Villa Muthagania yesterday wowed Kenyans for emerging among the top students in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams after attaining an A of 84 points.
While appearing on Citizen TV’s JKL Live show yesterday night, Kamore recounted with admiration and appreciation the initiative by the Co-operative Bank Foundation scholarship program which he is a beneficiary for coming to his aide at a time he was “desperate.” He said.
“I wish to take this opportunity to thank my sponsors Cooperative Bank because they came to me and picked me up at a time when I was desperate.” Kamore said.
In a moving story, Kamore narrated that when he was preparing to join Kagumo High School, his father was bedridden and could not manage to see his son through school when the Co-operative Bank Foundation came to his aide.
Kamore is among the over 10,000 bright and needy students who have so far been supported by the Co-operative Bank Foundation scholarship program.
“An inspiring note by one of the top most performers in the Form 4 exams, Villa Kamore, as featured on JKL Live of Citizen TV. Kamore is a Co-op Bank Foundation student who attended Kagumo High School. Incredible impact with over 10,000 of such students already supported.” The bank said.
Having founded in 2007, the Cooperative Bank Foundation program scholarships are awarded on merit to gifted but needy students from all regions of Kenya.
In December last year, Co-operative Bank of Kenya, Kilifi branch granted four-year fully paid scholarships to five deserving students in Kilifi county drawn from Magarini, Kaloleni, Ganze, Kilifi North, and Kilifi South Sub counties.
For Kamore’s case, he hails from a humble background in Kinangop, Nyandarua county.
All through his academic life, he has maintained impressive performance right from primary school.
“I went to Gathiru Primary School and managed to score 406 marks and I was admitted to Kagumo High School which was my dream school but things were challenging for me.” Kamore remarked.
