The opposition Azimo One Kenya Coalition brigade has laid out elaborate plans for nationwide celebrations of Raila Odinga’s 79th birthday towards addressing concerns of hard economic times and tax burden affecting Kenyans.
Plans are underway to celebrate his birthday in various parts of the country.
Top on his birthday message is the call for the government to cut down taxes, which have led to high cost of living and burdening Kenyans.
Raila is set to celebrate his birthday in Malindi, Kilifi county, at the residence of former Mombasa Governor Hasan Joho.
Majorly, politicians from the opposition wing have joined hands to shower praises to the chief as he celebrates his 79th birthday.
Led by Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua led principals to convey the message on her X page.
“Happy birthday kinara wangu Raila Odinga. May you have many happy returns to serve.” Karua said.
The ODM party in which Raila serves as the party leader prayed for his good health and luck as he celebrates his birthday.
“We join the nation and the world in praying for our party leader. As a party, we are proud to be a part of this amazing journey of excellence and success. Happy birthday sir.” The tweet read in part.
Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang said Raila’s love for the country and the people is unmatched in Kenyan history.
“Even when wounded you always choose dialogue where others would have chosen insurrection. We pray God grants you health, strength and wisdom to guide and give us hope of a better Kenya,” he said.
It was yet unclear if there was any ceremony planned by the Opposition leaders to celebrate the leader.
Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi wrote: “I celebrate you. You lifted me into leadership. May you live long to see all your dreams and aspirations accomplished”.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said: “Sisi ni wale tulibarikiwa tukakujua na ukatujua. Asante kwa yote unazidi kulifanyia taifa letu. Mungu akulinde na akupe maisha marefu”.
