President William Ruto has said Kenya recognises the vital role played by sporting activities in promoting social and economic development of the country.
Speaking during the Safari motor rally “Shakedown,” at Loldia and KWS Training School service parks in Naivasha, Nakuru county the president said the government appreciates the role of sports in economic development.
President Ruto noted that the government views the Safari Rally with utmost importance as a socio-economic activity that contributes significantly to the country’s economy.
“The last two editions have developed domestic and international tourism, transportation and hospitality, with the benefits reaching the very bottom among small traders selling groundnuts or sausages.” He said.
President Ruto said the government will continue the partnership with sporting organizations to maximize the potential for sports to promote social and economic development in the country.
