Questions are lingering over the dramatic showdown revolving around the gangland style occupation of a high end multimillion residential house at Amara Ridge in Karen owned by Gatanga Member of Parliament (MP) Edward Muriu by a female Cabinet Secretary said to be dropping names of powers that be bragging that she is untouchable.
Ugly scenes played out as Muriu’s contractor assigned to carry out renovation works was captured on viral video footage being mishandled and roughed up by heavily armed policemen who guarded the house.
The CS is said to have moved in while the owners, the MP and his, Maria Muriu without approval of the property owner.
According to Maria, the CS had expressed interest to purchase the property at Sh90million which they declined since the final selling price stands at Sh120million.
She said, to her dismay, the CS trespassed the property assumed occupation under tight police security without their knowledge, approval or having leased or purchased it.
Police stepped in when the said female CS whose identity is not yet disclosed, allegedly forced her way into the mansion without the first owners’ knowledge.
Sources indicate that the CS, who had shown interest in the house, approached the MP and offered Sh90 million so as to switch ownership, but the couple declined, saying the palatial house was worth Sh120 million.
According to the MP’s wife, the CS moved in when they (the couple) had travelled to the US for a family affair only to come back and find heavy police presence at their compound, after she had sent a contractor to supervise the cleaning of the house in readiness for their return.
The contractor was allegedly manhandled and locked out of the premises, which she claimed had already been occupied by the unnamed Cabinet Secretary, accusing her of taking advantage of their absence to move into the house illegally.
“There is no agreement signed whatsoever. There is no transaction that has taken place. This house still belongs to me and my husband.” Furious MP’s wife said.
“Why it is occupied right now, I am as shocked as you are!” She added.
The MP is now said to have filed a police report and was considering suing the CS for trespass and damages.
The aggrieved landlord told reporters that the CS had travelled outside the country at the time of the commotion.
By the time of going to press, the elusive CS had not come out to issue any statement on the allegations leveled against her.
After all the drama, the gangland style drama begs many questions than answers.
Was the Sh90 million given to the MP, and if so, why wasn’t there a legal or valid contract? Who is this CS who doesn’t want to come out? Who is this landlord and what’s their stand on the dispute? And why did the police seemingly take orders from the CS and not the MP who is the current owner?
