The court has given a nod to an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to have the terror charges against Standard Media group journalist Laban Cliff Onserio withdrawn.
The DPP had applied to have the case withdrawn on grounds that there was insufficient evidence to charge him.
The renowned journalist was arrested last year December 18, 2022 by detectives from the Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) after he was allegedly found with a stun grenade at the Holy Family Basilica Church.
Detectives said that the journalist could not give satisfactory reasons why he was in possession of the flash bang grenade nor produce a certificate allowing him to be in possession of the device.
He was being investigated for terror-related offences which include possession of explosives.
