A multi-agency team has today arrested six profiled serial muggers in their hideout in Mathare 1, Nairobi.
National Police Service (NPS) reported that the six, aged 20 to 26, possessed four knives, one stone, and eight rolls of marijuana.
“The National Police Service Multi-Agency Team in Nairobi continues to make headways in addressing the emergence of predatory crimes especially “muggings” in Nairobi,” NPS stated.
NPS has committed to remain relentless in the protection of life and property as security operations in various parts of the country intensify.
The six have since undergone pre-charge processing awaiting to be arraigned today.
Their arrest comes after the Inspector General of Police, Japhet Koome recently issued a stern warning to crime syndicates in Nairobi and across the country to either desist from crime or else face the full force of the law.
Cabinet Secretary for Interior, Kithure Kindiki put on notice criminal gangs terrorising Nairobi residents saying that the government will take stern action against them.
