The acting Inspector General of Police Noor Gabow has appointed Nicholas Ireri Kamwende as the Deputy Director at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Gabow stated that the changes were in line with the ongoing police reforms and aimed at streamlining services to enhance effectiveness.
“These changes are in line with ongoing police reforms and are aimed at streamlining services; enhancing effectiveness,” he said.
In line with the changes, Director of Reforms Eliud Kipkoech Lagat has been appointed as the new Director Investigations Bureau replacing John Gachomo who has been redeployed as Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) boss to succeed the new DCI Amin Mohammed Ibrahim.
Johnstone Kola has also been appointed the new Director ATPU while Martin Otieno Omumbo has been deployed to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Paul Mumo has been transferred to the Kenya Police Headquarters, Vigilance House Nairobi.
The changes come shortly after Amin Mohammed was sworn in as the new DCI boss by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
Mohammed took over from his predecessor George Kinoti who was transferred to Public Service.
