A missing Information Technology (IT) member of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) who had been reported missing, has been found.
Japhet Dibo, who was working in the Information and Technology (IT) section had gone missing on August 18. Family members reported the matter to relevant authorities the following day at Kilimani Police Station.
Florence Aluoch, Dibo’s wife who spoke to the press concerning the matter, assured the public that the missing IT expert had been discovered and was safe.
“We are okay and he (Dibo) is at home, there is nothing to worry about,” Aluoch said.
Trevor Lichuma, Dibo’s lawyer stated that the IT Guru was taken forcefully by unknown people on Thursday at 10 pm and was released the next day at 2 pm.
According to the lawyer, the family was worried after learning of the incident and thereafter reported the matter to the police.
“Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating the matter, and we hope they will get to the bottom of it all,” said the lawyer.
Dibo’s wife had earlier told the police that her husband had left his office at KISM Towers in Nairobi in the company of an unknown man and never returned home and was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and a navy blue pair of trousers.
Japhet Dibo is the owner of Dial Africa, an IT company with its headquarters at the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management in Nairobi.
He had been contracted by IEBC during the just-concluded General Election as an IT consultant.
