Deputy President William Ruto has committed to accept the outcome of the August General Elections.
Speaking during the national power breakfast, the Kenya Kwanza presidential hopeful said he will respect the will of the people in the fast-approaching August polls.
“Every time we come to an election there is anxiety, and sometimes tension, but I am trusting God that this election will be an election with a difference. We will do everything possible to make sure that the elections are peaceful,” Ruto stated.
At the same time, Ruto took the opportunity to seek unconditional forgiveness amongst all Kenyans.
“We have not been as united as we should have been. I ask for your forgiveness. I also know I may have fallen short of the expectations of my boss; President Kenyatta and I ask for your forgiveness,” Ruto said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta joined national leaders and the clergy and invited guests at the 19th National Annual Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi City County.
The Head of State was seated alongside Chief Justice Martha Koome and his deputy at the next table.
