Government forensic analyst Kimani Mungai has confirmed that Migori Governor Okoth Obado sired the late Sharon Otieno’s unborn baby.
The DNA profiles that were tested were generated from buccal swabs from Sharon Otieno, Michael Juma Oyamo, the foetus and Obado.
Further, he said the DNA from jumper jackets, pair of trousers, the open shoes, the vagina swamp and the blazer matched the one generated from Sharon.
Chief Inspector attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) Lilian Saka the third witness in the Sharon murder case, yesterday testified that Sharon was raped in the Kodera forest before being killed
She ruled out the possibility of her killers taking her life elsewhere and dumping her body in the thicket where it was discovered.
According to her, she took photographs of items recovered from the scene by officers from Oyugis Police station that included a torn condom wrapper, a stained trouser, a stained jacket with an Adidas logo and a stained under pant among other pieces of evidence.
Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Migori County Clerk Casper Obiero who are suspects in Sharon’s murder were present to hear the testimony against them.
Government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor, the first witness to testify, said that there were seven stab wounds and two slash wounds.
“There was muscle bleeding on the left side of the neck and muscle was detached from the attachment on the bone. Bleeding seen on the root of the tongue and right lung had collapsed,” he testified.
According to Oduor, the cause of death of the late Sharon was severe hemorrhage due to penetrating force trauma and there were features of manual strangulation adding that the fetus aged 28 weeks was male, with a stab wound on the abdomen.
He said that Sharon’s clothes were given to him separately adding that they were not on her.
“The body was flaccid; the skin was slipping off the back of the arms and legs. There was a slash wound below the left ear and another slash wound below the first,” he said.
