This comes after, Embakasi Divisional Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) Simon Mwongela was arrested over fatal shooting of a private security guard at a lodging in the neighbouring Kayole police command in Nairobi today at dawn.
The senior officer attached to the DCI’s George Kinoti office was seized immediately after Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambia ordered his arrest in connection to the murder.
Preliminary police findings show Mwongela opened fire against the guard at close range using his official state owned gun following an unclear altercation.
“Investigations are underway to establish the circumstantial evidence of what exactly transpired before the fatal shooting.” A senior officer said.
He has since been disarmed.
