A press statement from Cabinet Secretary for Health Mutahi Kagwe on 19th November said 1,459 more people tested positive out of a sample size of 10,146 for the virus in the last 24 hours.
This brings national case load to 74, 145 since March out of 815,040 cumulative tests.
17 more people have succumbed to Covid-19 in Kenya bringing the fatality to 1,330.
From the new cases, 1,419 are Kenyans while 40 are foreigners. In gender distribution, 835 are male and 624 are female. The youngest is a four- month- old infant while the oldest is 97.
The statement read that there are 1,116 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 6,232 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
59 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 27 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 28 on supplemental oxygen.
Distribution of the cases by counties is as follows: Nairobi 472, Kiambu 311, Mombasa 108, Laikipia 63, Uasin Gishu 53, Busia 49, Kisumu 48, Meru 43, Nakuru 36, Kericho 33, Kisi 29, Kakamega 29, Marsabit 17, Murang’a 16, Nyamira 16, Kajiado 15, Garissa 13, Nandi 12, Kitui 12, Nyeri 11, Machakos
11, Siaya 10, Bungoma 10, Turkana 8, Kirinyaga 8, Kilifi 6, Bomet 5, Trans Nzoia 4, Homabay 3, Makueni 2, Taita Taveta 2, Kwale 2, Isiolo 1, and Tharaka Nithi 1.
At the moment, 780 patients have recovered from the disease, 690 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 90 have been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stands at 50,658.
