Talk to our investigations agency on PIN blockage, KRA advises Joho

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has now asked Mombasa governor Hassan Joho and his two brothers to contact the agency’s Investigations and Enforcement office over the blockage of their Personal Identification Numbers (PIN).

The brothers claim they are unable to file his tax returns as required by the law after KRA blocked their PIN.

However, KRA said blocking of the PIN is a normal procedure based on tax compliance status of the person.

“The PIN owner has an obligation to file tax returns and is advised to contact KRA Investigations and Enforcement office in Mombasa or Nairobi for assistance in filing returns,” KRA commissioner of Investigations and Enforcement said in a statement.

The commissioner said Joho’s tax matters are confidential as provided for by the law and the agency therefore cannot discuss them in public.
