Kibochi underscores the significance of joint training for mission readiness

Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, Gen Robert Kibochi has underscored the significance of joint training for mission readiness which is critical to successful operations.
Visiting troops operating in the ongoing Multi-Agency Field Training Exercise (FTX), Kibochi said KDF will train all stakeholders on interoperability whilst undertaking National interventions to safeguard the people and livelihoods of Kenyans.
“The FTX which is conducted within a Multi Agency framework will train all stakeholders on interoperability whilst undertaking National interventions to safeguard the people and livelihoods of Kenyans,” he said.
Kibochi who was accompanied by Maj Gen Jimson Mutai, Commander Kenya Navy, and other senior officers, was keen to listen to the troops on what they were learning, unlearning and relearning during the FTX, assess their mission readiness as well as, operational capabilities to address conventional and asymmetric threats.
The FTX has benefited communities in the Operation Amani Boni area.
KDF and other MDA’s have engaged locals to identify and deliver on diverse Civil Military Engagements.
KDF has sank boreholes, built schools, rehabilitated infrastructure in dilapidated health centres and schools, and conducted medical clinics.
The multi agency field training exercise was launched early this month and it is designed to respond to emerging security threats.
The exercise was launched by Kibochi at the Kenya Navy Manda base it incorporates troops from KDF, National Police Service, Kenya Coast Guard Service, Kenya Wildlife service, Kenya Forest Service, the National Youth Service among other concerned sectors in Government.
The Exercise was to be held in 3 Counties; Garissa, Tana River and Lamu.
KDF Spokesperson Colonel Zipporah Kioko said movement and other activities by troops in the three Counties is in line with the joint multi agency field training exercise.
She said there is a need for a-whole-Government approach in delivering comprehensive solutions to contemporary threats.
“During the exercise various civil military cooperation activities which respond to community needs will be identified and implemented,” she said.
