At least 14 passengers were injured in an accident involving a bus and a private car on Kenyatta Avenue in the Nairobi central business district.
Witnesses said the City Shuttle bus driver had been speeding when he hit the saloon car at about 6am. They said he had also ignored traffic lights.
The vehicle ferrying 56 passengers to the city centre overturned, leaving them trapped.
The injured passengers were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.
