Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya is tipped to replace Turkana’s Josephat Nanok as Council of Governors chair.
CoG is expected to elect its officials on Friday during the second day of governors’ induction in Diani Reef Hotel, Kwale county.
Jubilee, which has 27 out of 47 governors, plans to replace Nanok who is an Opposition politician.
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is vying the the deputy chair position.
Mvurya would be the third governor to head the council after Nanok and former Meru Governor Peter Munya.
The Kwale boss was re-elected on a Jubilee ticket in the August 8 poll after he ditched ODM
