Windsor Classic set to tee off tomorrow
The tournament boasts a prize pool of Ksh 500, 000, with the winner set to walk away with Ksh 115,400, making it a highly sought-after event in the amateur golf calendar
The much-anticipated 2025 Windsor Classic will take place from tomorrow to Sunday at the prestigious Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club, bringing together 146 top amateur golfers from Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda for a thrilling 54-hole Stroke play Championship.
This year’s event has also attracted six talented female golfers, adding an exciting dynamic to the competition. The women players, including Naomi Wafula, Kellie Gachaga, Margaret Njoki, Bianca Ngecu and Diana Mbuba, will compete alongside their male counterparts in this high-stakes tournament with money on the line
With a highly competitive field, players will compete over three days, with the first two rounds of the tournament determining the top 33 players, along with ties, who will make the cut to advance to the final round on Sunday, March 9th.

The defending champion, Michael Karanga, will be returning to the course to defend his title in what promises to be a nail-biting competition.
“The Windsor Classic is officially recognised as a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, offering players the opportunity to earn valuable ranking points as they vie for the championship,” said Chris Kinuthia, the Tournament Director.
“The competition will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Local Rules, KAGC Qualifying Event Requirements, and any additional local rules as approved by the Tournament Committee.”
Kinuthia thanked Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club for availing their world-class course to host this exciting event, where elite amateur golfers will showcase their talent. The Par 72 course that has been readied well for this event is also expected to attract a huge number of golfing fans to the facility for the three day tournament.
