We are not flower girls, CS Alice Wahome tells former DP Rigathi Gachagua

Wahome stated even though he has respect for Gachagua, he has gone overboard by referring to her and her female colleagues as flower girls of President William Ruto.

Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has called on former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua to be respectful of  female Cabinet secretaries in the Kenya Kwanza government.

Wahome stated that even though he has respect for the former DP, he has gone overboard by referring to her and her female colleagues as flower girls of President William Ruto.

The former Kandara Member of Parliament termed Gachagua as the current opposition leader telling him to oversight the government respectfully without disrespecting the cabinet members.

“He termed female Cabinet members as flower girls. People of my age being termed as flower girls is disrespectful. Let us respect each other because I have no issue with Gachagua as he is a former DP,” She stated.

She told the former DP asking him to wait for two years for the Kenya Kwanza government to deliver for the remaining years adding that he should speak the truth to Kenyans because the government is working.

“We have come in South B to work and ensure you have a market. This is work being delivered by the KK government. Let Gachagua speak facts to Kenyans on President Ruto’s delivery,” She stated.

Further, the former legislator condemned members of the Azimio Coalition who are in government and are spreading politics of isolation and disunity against what President Ruto is advocating for.

“There are those in broad-based government but have not understood what broad-based is because they are preaching politics of isolating one community. The platform is laid out by the president and complaining is disrespect for Kenyans. We cannot lose direction even if we are pushed to what extent. Let us not preach politics of isolation, disunity, and conflict. Kenya should move as one country as said by the president,” Wahome said.

This comes hours after CS Wahome also lashed out at the former DP for dismissing government-funded projects in the country.

Wahome pointed out that Gachagua was part of the government during the planning and implementation of several projects, adding that he even championed and launched some of the projects himself before being ousted from the government.

She has urged Kenyans not to listen to naysayers.
