The war of words between Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and former Kathiani legislator Wavinya Ndeti went a notch higher Tuesday after the latter told him to stop meddling in her affairs.
Ndeti who is also Machakos Wiper Party gubernatorial nominee said she was tired of Muthama’s incessant verbal attacks on her personality and urged the embattled politician to desist from further insults.
The gubernatorial aspirant who looked visibly irritated claimed the Senator had developed an obsession of attacking her for no apparent reason, in what appeared to be a clear degradation of women leaders in the country.
Ndeti, who was speaking on the sidelines of a pre-nomination meeting for political aspirants in Machakos county organised by IEBC, said whereas she respected Muthama, he must be stopped on his track.
“I don’t want to exchange words with the senator. He is my senior and I respect him but this must be reciprocated. Why is he insulting me continually and what problem does Muthama have with Ndeti?” she posed.
The former Chama Cha Uzalendo leader defended her track record saying she had performed well during her tenure as Kathinai MP going by the number of projects she initiated under CDF.
The governor race hopeful also accused Muthama of being disrespectful to the Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka while ironically claiming to be loyal to the Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
She said it was impossible to pledge allegiance to the opposition party while at the same time abusing its leading lights.
Muthama has in the recent past been on the receiving end from a section of Ukambani leaders after falling out with Kalonzo Musyoka over what he claims were bungled party primaries.
On Sunday, the Wiper supremo dismissed Muthama as an insincere leader and demanded that the controversial politician either tows the line or quits the party.
