Two teachers escape mob justice after fleeing with Sh1million from politician

Police based in Makueni are investigating an incident where two teachers escaped from an irate mob after disappearing with Sh1 million they had received from a politician in Mtito Andei yesterday.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the money was given to the two to share with others by a politician who was campaigning in the area but they escaped.
”The two teachers based at two local Primary Schools stormed Kambu police post and went straight behind the report office desk with dozens of motorbike riders hot in their pursuit. They took cover behind two police officers manning the desk pleading with them for protection,” stated DCI.
The boda boda riders alleged that instead of the two sharing the incentive with them and the womenfolk selling market merchandise, they took off with the money.
“The officers tried to calm down the unruly mob, some became impatient and started hurling projectiles at officers demanding that the two be released to face instant justice.
This forced the officers to call for reinforcement from Mtito Andei police station, which arrived immediately.
Deputy President William Ruto who was yesterday campaigning in Mtito Andei, pledged to give commercial sex workers Sh1 million.
Ruto told the call girls to organise themselves in a SACCO so that he can wire the money to them.
His promise came after a woman appealed to him to expedite the release of the ‘Hustlers Empowerment Fund’ so that they can venture into respectful businesses.
old her to organise a group to which he pleaded a million shillings that would be used for a more constructive engagement.
Ruto vowed to ensure the sex workers had started a respectable business once they receive the money.
