Two employees of the struggling Qwetu Sacco, both domiciled under the Finance Department were yesterday charged with conspiracy to kill their colleague, an internal auditor over unfavourbale audit report that unearthed massive insider financial impropriety.
Appearing before before Voi Senior Principal Magistrate Tobiko Sikiyan, Livingstone Kirigha Mwakoi and Joram Tayo Mghanga denied planning to kill one Stanley Mwangi Ndung’u.
Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) blew the lid into what would have murder most foul targeting a colleague to cover up financial flaws within the struggling Taita Taveta County based financial institution.
The court heard that on diverse dates between December 26 and December 27, 2022, , the duo jointly conspired to kill Stanley Ndung’u contrary to Section 224 of the Penal Code.
Appearing before Voi Senior Principal Magistrate Tobiko Sikiyan, the two denied the charges and were each granted a cash bail of Sh100,000.
The court set the pre-trial date for February 1, 2023.
