Shock as man commit suicide after stabbing estranged wife in Nairobi
Residents of Nasra estate in Njiru, Nairobi county, have been left in a sombre mood after a middle-aged man committed suicide by setting fire to the car his ex-wife and daughter were riding in yesterday.
According to police, prior to the heinous act, Denis Musyoka had stabbed his estranged wife, Elizabeth, multiple times in the neck before good Samaritans rescued her from the jaws of death.
“The lady managed to jump out of the vehicle and was rescued by good Samaritans. The deceased then set himself on fire in the said vehicle together with her daughter, 2.5 years,” stated the police report.
The 34-year-old man is alleged to have requested that their daughter be brought to his house so that they can bond after being away for a while.
The two are said to have been battling a disagreement.
Both the mother and daughter were rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where she is in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, the child has been transferred to the Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised treatment, and she is said to be in a critical condition.
Musyoka’s body was moved to the Mama Lucy Hospital morgue while detectives in Kayole investigate the incident.
