President Uhuru host William Ruto at State House ahead of tomorrow’s inauguration

President Uhuru Kenyatta has today hosted president-elect Dr. William Samoei Ruto at State House, Nairobi, ahead of tomorrow’s inauguration ceremony.

After the meeting, Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta conducted the president-elect and First Lady in-waiting Rachel Ruto on a tour of State House as part of the official handing-over process.

“Today’s meeting between President Kenyatta and President-elect Dr. Ruto affirms that all preparations for tomorrow’s inauguration are complete,” read a statement from the State House.

The two leaders have not spoken in a long time.

The meeting will ease the handover of power during Ruto’s swearing in ceremony as the country’s fifth President.
