Mathira East Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Ebrahim Muchangi, has passed away at his official home in Saigon Estate, Nyeri county.
During a media brief, police chief for Mathira East Benjamin Rotich, stated that Muchangi’s death was unexpected because he had not shown any unusual behaviour the week before.
“His death has shocked us. I had spent the better part of the day with him. He was jovial and showed no signs of bad health. When I learned about his demise I was devastated. I could not believe it until I visited the hospital,” a local chief, James Muriuki stated.
The police chief announced that a post-mortem would be performed tomorrow to ascertain the precise cause of the man’s demise.
According to sources, the DCC fainted at his home after struggling to call for help. He was having terrible chest pain.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead while receiving medical attention.
His body was taken to Karatina’s Jamii Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.
