Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) has closed down two of its campuses mainly in Nakuru and Nyeri.
The affected colleges were closed down today .
The shut down followed a massive retrenchment of staff, which has been done within the institution’s human resource policies and applicable labor laws.
The affected students will be transferred to the three remaining campuses of Meru (main campus), Nairobi and Mombasa, to continue with learning until the reconstructions are over.
The remaining staff will be restructured to ensure Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) continues to run smoothly without any issues arising and also enhance service delivery and effectively respond to the education trends
According to a letter signed by the university vice chancellor Prof Kirimi.H. Kiriamiti some of the hitches faced by the university are restructuring and re-engineering process, which are dynamics affecting every other learning institution in the modern day.
The institution has been re-positioning her agenda by reviewing the cost effectiveness of some of the satellite campuses and at the same time respond to the common swings affecting the education sectors in the university as well as in the country.
