Police commission advertise DCI vacancy after Kinoti’s resignation

The National Police Service Commander (NPSC) has advertised the post for the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after the immediate former boss George Kinoti resigned.

Through a statement, commission chairperson Eliud Kinuthia said interested candidates have seven days to apply for the position before the October 6 deadline.

Eligible candidates must be degree holders, have 10 years of experience and proven knowledge of criminal investigations.

“Applicants must be citizens of Kenya, hold a degree from a recognized university,10 years of experience in management and proven knowledge in criminal investigations and policing and meet requirements for chapter six of Constitution of Kenya 2010,” read the statement.

President William Ruto on Tuesday announced that he had received and subsequently accepted the resignation of Kinoti.

He directed the National Police Service (NPS) to announce a vacancy and advertise the position.

Kinoti has been at the helm of the criminal investigating agency since 2018.

Kinoti’s resignation was imminent after President Ruto accused him of being used to weaponise the war on graft.
