Suspect arrested for distribution of fake examination papers

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the distribution of fake examination papers on social media.

The suspect who has over 20,000 followers on Telegram was apprehended through a joint operation between the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) officers and officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

He will be arraigned on Monday morning at Milimani law courts.

His arrest comes days to the national examinations set to begin on November 28 for KCPE, while the KCSE exam will be done from December 1 to December 23.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu had warned persons with intention to interfere with the exams and committed to curb irregularity in the upcoming national exams.

“We will leave nothing to chance as far as the administration of national exams is concerned,”Machogu said.

Machogu said he is working with two other ministries to ensure a transparent examination process.

Over three million candidates are set to sit for the national examinations this year.
