Kenyan woman drowns in Canada while recording live video

A video has emerged online of a Kenya woman living in Toronto, Canada who drowned while recording herself.

The lady who goes by the name Hellen Wendy on Facebook was doing a life recording of herself swimming. She is seen getting into the pool as she adjusts her phone camera.

Based on her Facebook profile, Wendy studied oncology nursing at Pwani University in Kenya before proceeding to Canada where she studied Pre-nursing (Registered Nurse).

The Itiero Girls’ High School alumna lost her life as her fans watched her recording the tragic incident.

“Hi there,” she says. She goes on to tell her viewers that she has just left work and decided to come for a dip. “Maji ni baridi” (The water is extremely cold) she says in Kiswahili as she continues to play and laugh in the water.

Wendy is seen coming up for air several times and engaging her viewers before she gets back into the water. However, from the eleventh minute, things go haywire as she is heard screaming.

It is obvious she is now in distress as screams rip through the air… then silence and there is no sign of Wendy. The video goes on to record the empty pool for over three hours before her body is discovered in the pool.
