Simba’s shift focus to fixture against Zimbabwe after loss in Currie Cup opener

Kenya’s rugby national (fifteens) team popularly known as Simbas will now shift focus to their scheduled fixture against Zimbabwe after a 51-14 loss to Valke in their Currie Cup first division campaign at the Bosman Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday, April 9, 2022.

The Paul Odera coached side went into the intervals trailing 32-0 before Samuel Asati touched down soon after the break before Fijian born Jone Kubu converted for a 32-7 score.

Simbas, who are using the Currie Cup as part of their build-up for the upcoming Rugby World Cup African qualifiers in France, would concede three more tries before Kubu converted Brian Tanga’s try.

Kenya has no points on the 10-team standings, however, with a game in hand against a lowly ranked Zimbabwe’s Goshawks and Border Bulldogs, the national team could climb up the log.
