President Uhuru receives credentials from 10 new ambassadors

President Uhuru Kenyatta has received credentials from 10 incoming envoys at a ceremony at State House, Nairobi.

The President told the group he is looking forward to co-operating with them to advance the interests of Kenya and their countries.

“I welcome you to Kenya and look forward to working with you for the mutual benefits of our nations,” Uhuru said on Tuesday.

The envoys include Cherdkiat Atthakor (Thailand), Dragan Zupanjevac (Serbia), Herman Glavic (Chile), Noah Gendler (Israel), Sheidu Momoh (Nigeria) and Nicholas Nihon (Belgium).

Others are Anna Jardfelt (Sweden), Francisca Ashietey (Ghana), Loh Seck Tiong (Malaysia), and Nguyen Kim Doanh (Vietnam).

The ambassador of Chile said he has been given the mandate to develop a foreign policy strategy that will be of mutual benefit to Chile and Kenya, which he said is Africa’s “most dynamic region”.

Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua and officials from the Foreign Affairs ministry, led by Principal Secretary Monica Juma, also attended the ceremony.

Earlier today, Uhuru bade farewell to outgoing Uganda ambassadorAngelina Wapakhabulo.
