Kwale County: KEMNAC wants allocation of 8,000 acres of land probed
Kenya Muslim National Advisory Council (KEMNAC) has called on the government to investigate alleged illegal allocation of 8,000 acres of land at Maji ya Chumvi area of Kwale County to a private investor.
Chairman Sheikh Juma Ngao said despite the adjudication process and the land being surveyed June last year the residents were yet to be issued with title deeds which were being held at the Kwale county Lands registrars office.
“The residents were supposed to be issued with title deeds in January this year, however this has not been the case after a private investor informed area leaders that he was the legal owner of the parcel of land,” he said.
Ngao said that four villages of Katsimba Lwena, Mwangoloto, Mdzinzi and Deri occupy the 8,000 acres that are being claimed by the said investors.
Ngao questioned why despite land officials having curved the area and later issued a 60-day notice for whoever that has an objection to raise it, no single objection was raised.
