Police Seargent charged for defiling a minor in Kiambu

An Administration Police officer in Githunguri has been charged with gang defilement by a Kiambu court.

Sergeant Jacob Ojiambo is accused of defiling a minor, then a class eight pupil at a school in the locality, in his house within Mitahato AP Camp.

According to Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the officer lived with his brother, a Mathematics tutor who was well known to the girl when the incident occured.

“Initially, the April, 14, 2019 incident was investigated by officers at Githunguri Police Station but IPOA moved in, took over the matter and conducted an independent probe,” stated DCI.

“This independent investigation indicted Sergeant Jacob Ojiambo and his brother,
findings that the Authority forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.”

The ODPP concurred with the recommendations of the Authority and recommended his arrest.

The Court further issued a warrant of arrest against his brother Dismas Mujibu, who is a co-accused who is still at large.
