Co-op Bank donates Sh1million to patients detained at county hospitals over medical bills

Co-operative Bank of Kenya has extended a helping hand by donating a one million shillings cheque as medical bill to patients detained at hospitals in Nairobi over medical bills.

The lender issued the cheque to Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja.

“Very grateful to The Co-operative Bank for their kind gesture and donation of one million shillings to support my initiative where all who had been detained at our county hospitals were released to go home to spend Christmas with their families. May God bless you so much,” Sakaja said.

He said that the Cooperative bank donation will be handed to Mbagathi District hospital where the total outstanding bills had come to 1.7 million.

“Christmas is a time when families need to be together. So let the detained patients be released so that they can go and celebrate Christmas with their families,” Sakaja added.

Recently, Co-operative bank gave a donation of Sh150million as an initiative to curb the drought situation in the country.

The lender heeded President Ruto’s call to assist starving Kenyans.
