NPSC advertise DIG’s post after Mbugua’s exit

The chairman Eliud Kinuthia led National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has today advertised the position of the Deputy Inspector Geenral (DIG) after the exit of DIG Kenya Police Service (KPS) Edward Mbugua who proceeded on retirement.

Mbugua’s term had been extended by two years by the retired president Uhuru Kenyatta and he has been replaced by Abdalla Komesha who is serving in an acting capacity.

Today, Mbugua is expected to officially hand over to his successor at Vigilance House, police headquarters in Nairobi.

According to the invitation application advert by the commission, those eligible must apply by March 26, 2023 5:00 pm deadline.

The eligible candidates must have fifteen years’ experience at the National Police Service (NPS) degree holders and must be a Kenyan citizen.

The two DIGs; DIG KPS and DIG Administration Police Service (APS) alongside the Director of Criminal Investigations serve under the direct command of the Inspector General of Police.

Mbugua replaced retired DIG Joel Kitili who was preceded by pioneer DIG KPS Grace Kaindi.

Applicants the applicants are required to attach clearance forms from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
