NASA to pitch camp in Nakuru on Sunday

The National Super Alliance (Nasa) luminaries will on Sunday pitch camp in Nakuru town, the home turf of Deputy President William Ruto, in a bid to penetrate the Jubilee Party’s zones ahead of the August 8 General-Election.

Nasa’s five principals – commonly referred to as Pentagon – led by presidential candidate Raila Odinga and running-mate Kalonzo Musyoka, will hold a major rally tin the agricultural town to popularise their agenda at Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium.

The quintet has has vowed to snatch Rift Valley region from Jubilee’s grip with Raila stating on id in a media statement on Friday: “The notion that Rift Valley voters are in the pockets of Jubilee and that everyone else is an outsider and intruder ends on Sunday.”

Principals who form the Pentagon are Raila of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Kalonzo from Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM), Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula and Chama Cha Mashinani supremo Isaac Ruto.

The Sunday event marks the first rally since Raila and Kalonzo were named Nasa presidential candidates.
“Nakuru town will on Sunday host the first public Nasa rally since the Opposition coalition unveiled its flag-bearers,” confirmed Raila’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango in the statement.

Raila who has been out of the country in a visit to Israel was due back home on Saturday morning.
