Nairobi county announces four-day temporary closure of City Hall Way for WRC rally launch

The Nairobi City County Government has announced the temporary closure of City Hall Way from the City Hall Way Roundabout to Parliament Roundabout to facilitate preparations for the upcoming WRC Safari Rally opening ceremony.
In a statement signed by the Nairobi city county Acting County Secretary and Head of Public Service Godfrey Akumali, the closure will take effect from Monday, March 17, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
The closure will be effected from Monday at 8:00pm to Thursday, March 202, 2025 at 3:00pm.
During this period, the road will be inaccessible to motorists as rally organisers set up for the highly anticipated event.
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and explore alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
The county government has urged road users to cooperate with police officers and traffic marshals who will be deployed to manage traffic flow during the closure.
The WRC Safari Rally is a major international motorsport event that attracts global participants and fans and its opening ceremony in Nairobi is expected to set the stage for an exciting competition.
Motorists have been advised to plan in advance on navigating alternative routes.
The Service Park for the WRC Safari Rally has been undergoing a meticulous set up, with teams starting to dock their containers in preparation for the event set for March 19-23.
