Munya blames national government for the ongoing nurses strike

Former Council of Governors (CoG) chairman and Meru Governor Peter Munya has blamed the National Government for the ongoing countrywide nurses strike.

Speaking toady in Imenti Central, Munya said the national government through Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) is responsible for the Collective Bargaining Agreement that was implemented by the county governments.

He called on the government to hasten the implementation to end the current stalemate.

“We did our bit as the county governments by implementing the pay hike. Now it is up to the SRC to ensure the CBA is signed,” he said.

Munya at the same time asked the National government to intervene to end the health crisis now and in future saying there should be no more humiliations to the counties and innocent Kenyans.
