The body of the missing Embakasi East Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning Officer has been found in Kajiado Loitoktok.
Daniel Mbolu Musyoka 53, went missing on August 11 and he could not be located.
Loitoktok Police Commander Kipruto Ruto confirmed his death as the body was identified by his sister’s Mary Mwikali and Ann Mboya at the sub-county mortuary.
“His two sisters confirmed the body lying at Loitoktok sub-county hospital last night. We are awaiting communication from Police Headquarters on whether to ferry the body to the City Mortuary or have it remain here,” he said.
On August 12, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati announced Mbolu went missing on August 11 and could not be found.
“The Returning Officer has been reported missing from the Embakasi Tallying Centre. Reports received by the Commission indicated that at around 9am on August 11, he was escorted to the tallying centre and at around 9:45am he excused himself to make a phone call but did not return,” Chebukati said.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine why he was abducted and eventually murdered.
