One Kenya Alliance (OKA) chief principals are set to meet Mt Kenya Foundation today where they will present their preferred visions and aspirations towards Mt Kenya region.
The OKA leaders who include Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress), Gideon Moi (Kanu) and Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya) is set to meet the top billionaires from central region over lunch, from noon, at the Safari Park Hotel.
MKF vice chairman Titus Ibui invited OKA principals to the consultative meeting on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s succession.
“Your input in the consultations towards Mt Kenya region’s position and stake in the next government will be greatly appreciated,” reads the invite by MKF.
The meeting is also expected to bring together top leaders from the region among them governors, legislators as well as religious leaders.
The meeting comes barely a months after the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga held a luncheon meeting with MKF financial influencers to unveil his 2022 presidential plans and the Mt Kenya region people’s stake in next year’s government.
MKF chairman Peter Munga said the mountain will be looking for a leader who will not seek followers but to inspire them.
“Nobody ever thought that you would climb the mountain and come down without slipping. When you are going to Mt Kenya, you don’t have to look for followers, they will come to you so long as you inspire them,” Munga said.
Ibui said the President met the wealth club in Sagana, Nyeri last year and sought their help to identify an ideal person to take over in 2022.
He said that the group is looking for a successor who will abide by the Constitution and give them conducive environment to conduct their businesses.
According to MKF, once they have gone through the interaction, they will sit down to choose who they relate with and then take the name to the President.
So far, from the alliance, Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Gideon have declared interest in the presidency.
