There was drama along the Narok-Mai Mahiu road after members of the Maasai community held a demonstration against the ongoing Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project.
During the morning incident, the demonstrators at one time blocked the main road leading to the SGR offices forcing police to intervene.
The over 100 demonstrators accused the Chinese contractor of working behind their backs and failing to involve them in the project.
They vowed that they would block the multi-billion project that seeks to extend the railway line from Nairobi to Olkaria in Naivasha.
According to one of the leaders Julius Ole Kiriaisi, the community had been kept in the darkness as the contractor embarked on the project.
The elder accused the Chinese of using the divide and rule tactics by paying some of those affected and shunning the others.
