Lake Nakuru chopper crash recovery: Half of the lake searched
Divers deployed at Lake Nakuru in search for the three bodies of victims and a plane wreck of the ill-fated crash have combed nearly half of the waters.
National Disaster Operation Centre desk officer Jonathan Kertich today said the divers have combed most areas of the lake, including the northern side, where witnesses said the plane could have crashed.
He exuded confidence of the team making a recovery soon saying that despite some of the divers pulling out of the operation due to lack of resources.
“The team has combed nearly half of the waters and we have intensified the same to the shores of the lake. Some of the divers especially private ones have bowed out of the operation due to lack of resources,” said Keritich.
Only two of five bodies, the pilot Apollo Malowa and Anthony Kipyegon, have been recovered.
The crash happened 26 days ago.
