KSIA gets new officials

Erick Okeyo, Managing Director at Bedrock Security has been elected unopposed as the new chairman of the Kenya Security Industry Association (KSIA).

Okeyo was elected was elected during the association’s annual general meeting held in Nairobi.

“The aim of the association is to provide security services professionally to our clients. We are committed and determined to play our rightful role as required.” Okeyo said yesterday.

Ksia is a federation of private companies whose core business is the supply of security products  and services.

Okeyo said that  duly established and registered business whose priory activity is the supply of security products and services  which meets the required standards  and pledges to uphold them through the Ksia charter  is welcome to join the association.

Raymond Nzioka  of Brinks  Security was elected Vice Chairman, Tobias See of Riley Falcon was elected Secretary while Sadik Makii of Absolute Security was elected Treasurer.

The association is mandated to establish and maintain quality standards and good practices in the industry, provide a central forum to discuss common issues and represent industry interests.

Ksia is the largest security association in Kenya and provides a central organization for liaison with government, police, emergency services and other organisations.

It also co-ordinates resources for commercial, professional and public education on security issues, technology and practice.

Registered under the Society’s Act, the association administers the KSIA Charter as an effective ‘customer assurance’ programme.

Other companies elected to the KSIA’s Governing Council include G4S, Magnum Allied Systems, Security Group Africa (SGA) Ultimate Security, Bob Morgan Security (BM),Corporate Security and Pinkerton’s.

Tony Sahni of Securex and a former Chairman of the Association, Jonathan Musomba of Riley Services and Ross Anson of BM Security were elected as Trustees to the Association.
