Atwoli gets fourth term as ILO council member

Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) secretary general Francis Atwoli has been re-elected as a member of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) governing council to serve a fourth term.

Atwoli, who is currently in Geneva, switzerland, attending the ILO conference was elected by an overwhelming majority to serve on the international workers’ body. The council regulates international standards and instruments of workers across the globe.

Atwoli was first elected as a deputy titular of ILO, before becoming ILO deputy vice president in 2012.
