Residents of Kakamega county have been left in shock after a 50-year-old man allegedly took away its own life after being in a domestic squabble.
The body of the man identified as Ezra Skim was found hanging from a tree with a rope on his neck in the wee hours of Tuesday morning after it was reported he had disappeared yesterday night before his body was discovered by road users.
This incident has since been confirmed by Khayega OCS Elizabeth Kagehi who urged members of the public to embrace alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
The deceased’s sister Jetina Tegeno revealed that her brother had been complaining of domestic abuse before his death.
While recounting the events of the night Skim is said to have taken his own life, the wife, Maximila Anyika, said the couple was sleeping when the deceased stormed out of the house and never returned.
The deceased body was taken to Mukumu Mortuary awaiting autopsy.
