Notorious highway robber nabbed by police in Turkana East
A multi-agency security personnel from ‘Operation Komesha Uhalifu North Rift’ nabbed a notorious highway robber behind a spate of criminal activities in lorogon area, Turkana county.
Acting on a tip off from the public, the police arrested Gedion Emojong Angelo who is linked to banditry attacks and highway robberies.
He is also suspected to be the mastermind behind the theft of camels earlier this month in Kalemorok within Logoron area in Turkana East Sub-County.
He has been placed in Kanuk Police Station awaiting necessary police action.
“As the National Police Service, we extend our gratitude to members of the public for the continuous cooperation and collaboration in our joint efforts of ending crimes, and nabbing criminals,” the National Police said.
The arrest comes a day after the government launched an operation to weed out bandits in the region following last month’s killing of eight security officers and three civilians.
