Governor Tolgos sacks ten county ministers
Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos has sacked seven out of nine county executive committee members who served in his first term.
This was revealed after he submitted a list to the county assembly for approval on Tuesday.
This ends the anxiety among current executives who had been waiting for the shortlist since Friday.
Tolgos retained CECs Shadrack Yatich (Agriculture) and Anne Kibosia (Tourism) after a week-long interview of the applicants.
The county chief hired the services of the Kenya School of Government to help in the selection of the executives.
Stephen Biwott (Finance), Stella Rono (Education), Thomas Ruto (Health), Maurice Rotich (Roads), Simon Kiplagat (Environment), Shadrack Chelimo (ICT and Public Service) and Monica Rotich (Youth and Sports) did not make it to the shortlist.
The governor also restructured the ministries splitting the Agriculture docket into Livestock, Cooperatives, Fisheries and Irrigation departments.
