Gachagua dares DCI to arrest him, alleges assassination plot

He also claims officers had clear instructions to plant arms and weapons in their convoy to provide evidence to arrest him and take him to court

Former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has dared the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to arrest him.

Gachagua called on the DCI to visit his home in Karen or Wamunyoro and arrest him if he has committed any crime.

“I’m here, they know my Wamunyoro home. They don’t need to waylay me on the road. Let them just come here, and if I’ve committed a crime, they can come and arrest me. The drama of waylaying us on the roads should be stopped. If the government knows that I’ve committed a crime, as defined under the laws of Kenya, and identified in the Penal Code, they know all my homes,” Gachagua dared the DCI.

Addressing the press while at his Karen residence, Gachagua also sensationally claimed that the government planned to ‘kill’ him yesterday using biological weapons that he was to inhale and get destroyed within three months.

“Their instructions were to poison me through inhaled chemicals that would paralyse my brain within three months. This was the intent and the purpose of the whole operation,” he claimed.

According to the former second-in-command, the barricading of roads amidst reported attempts to arrest him was a plot to ambush him, given that he had come from a church service in Gatanga, Murang’a County, yesterday.

He claimed that there are state-sponsored officers given specific instructions to take him out.

Further, he alleged that his team was tipped off by police officers who claimed they’d been ordered to plant weapons in his convoy as a setup to justify his arrest.

“We received further intelligence from the deployed patriotic officers who were not in agreement with the evil mission, that they had clear instructions to plant arms and weapons in our convoy to provide evidence to arrest us and get evidence that they could charge us with in court,” he claimed.

Yesterday, Gachagua’s lawyer, Ndegwa Njiru, stated on his social media handles that the former DP’s homes had been taken over by multiple security agencies.

The matter attracted the attention of Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who urged President William Ruto to arrest Gachagua in adherence to the law.
